Just for Mrs. Black Banana, I will continue on talking about my love of cheese. I never realized how great cheese is! I seriously eat it on a daily basis and savor every moment as it is in m mouth. Top Foods and Costco have a very nice selection of cheese. I found a three pack of Boursin at Costco for around $8 and LeRule for about $6.

My cheese of the moment is this delightful Boxing Cheddar that is aged 3 years. I bought it over the weekend at Top Foods. I think it was cheese of the month, because they were giving out free samples. Of course, how could I deny myself a free sample of a cheese? I quickly picked up a sample and tasted it. Truly, it was love at first bite. Smooth, crumbly, and yum! It only costs $6.99 a pound. That’s a steal in the cheese world!

Another really great cheese is Cotswold. Top Foods also carries this cheese, as well as Albertsons. It is an English cheese with chives and chopped onions. It is a great cheese to pair with crackers or eat as a snack. Highly recommended!

In closing, I found a great web site called ILoveCheese.Com. This site is so awesome! It has all sorts of recipes that deal with cheese, as well as a list of places that make cheeses in the United States. There is also a great cheese guide. Check it out!

Dinner was absolutely delightful as expected. The noodles were just right, the sauce was very flavorful, and the meatballs were divine. Who would have ever thought that I would like Swedish Meatballs? I can’t wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow!

The yummy plate!

Doesn’t that look tasty? Not the most attractive dish, but damn was it good. My husband was telling me how there are so many different ways to make Swedish Meatballs. All different regions have their own variations of the traditional dish. My husband chose to go the traditional route. I give him an A+.

Up close and yum!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful dinner! Oh yes, and those pictures are from my husband’s portions not mine. We all know I would DIE if I ate that much, literally……

Sonic has finally made it to my neck of the woods.   Those of you who know me, know I absolutely used to adore Sonic and would drive miles to get my “fix.”  All these years how I wished for a Sonic to be within a half an hour of my house and now I have one within a block of my house….A BLOCK! Great timing Sonic now that I can’t eat you! How you toy with my mind.

My husband and I thought that this new Sonic would cause a huge congestion issue in our area, but surprisingly enough it hasn’t. Maybe my husband and I will go to it one of these days between 2pm and 4pm for those delicious happy hour drinks…..

If you go to Sonic my recommendation to you is the following:

Sonic cheeseburger with cheesy tater tots and a cherry limeade.

Continuing on with my obsession with cheese, I thought I would create a poll to see what my visitors like the best. Go ahead and vote! Show your cheese appreciation. Heck, maybe go to the refrigerator right now and grab a piece before bedtime. Cheese is the best!

What is your favorite cheese?

Cheese is a wonderful food to say the very least!  You can do so much with cheese – eat it plain, bake with it, include it in scrumptious dishes, and so much more.  Who doesn’t love cheese?   And there’s so many different varieties to choose from – LeRule, Boursin, Cheddar, Sharp Cheddar, Gouda, Medium Cheddar, Havarti, Pepper Jack, and the list goes on.

After my surgery, I thought I would never love food again, it seemed like every little thing that I stuck in my mouth made sick.  Gone were the days of greasy goodness and tasty bread products – I hated them now.  Four months after surgery, my life started to look up and I discovered my new found passion was cheese.

Prior to surgery, I was never a big cheese fan.  Most of my cheese intake was inside a burger or maybe a quesadilla or taco.  When I found my new love of cheese, I was so excited to have something I enjoyed eating again.  Since then my husband calls me a “cheese-a-holic.“   A day doesn’t go by without me consuming some type of cheese.

My current cheese of the moment is Tillamook Pepper Jack (shown below).  It is to die for – rich, has tang, and oh-so smooth that it melts in your mouth.  I blame the demo lady at Costco for ever letting me sample it.  It was so good after sampling it that I just had to buy it and now I’m in love.

Tillamook also makes many other great products – yogurt, butter, sour cream, and ice cream.   I am hoping to go to their visitor’s center in 2010.   At the visitor’s center you can apparently take self-guided tours, watch them make cheese, and learn more about their products.   Has anyone ever gone there before?
